What is SAND?

The SAND festival is an international performing arts festival aiming to present Norwegian and international performances of extraordinary quality. The biennale was established in 1994 and counts its 13th edition in 2017, now as a yearly festival. The festival is centred around the beautiful theatre and concert hall Kilden in Kristiansand as its stronghold. The hall contains multiple theatres and several foyers and common rooms suitable as venues for performances and happenings. In 2019, the festival takes place from September 2nd – 7th. This year, SAND is hosting the Assitej Artistic Gathering. For information and booking, please visit!
