SAND 2016

The festival theme in 2016 was: Pushing boundaries in performing arts for a young audience

Performing arts is an interdisciplinary art form which exists in an interplay between many different form of arts and disciplines. Contemporary performing arts pushes the boundaries in this interplay, and at this year’s festival, we will present artists who push and challenge the boundaries in performing arts for children and young people. The performances experiment and plays with the relationship between stage elements, form, space and presentation strategies.

Kilden Teater- og Konserthus  was the festival’s main venue, alongside Aladdin and Teateret. During the festival period, 8 productions with a total of 40 performances were stages, we had two film screenings, and presented nine seminars/talks and presentaions. The audience number was 2439 people in totalt. The collaboration with the local milieu for performing arts has been extended, through collaborations with the new Scenekunst Sør, Rosegården Kulturhus, Ungdomskilden, Teateret og Agder Teater and.
